Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools BUDGET 2011-12

Your Board of Education has had one budget workshop thus far to start the discussion on how to "spend" the money we have. How to prioritize? What is most important in this school system? The Operating Budget for 2010-11 is $1.15 BILLION. This is in addition to the Capital budget. Mecklenburg County has 175 public schools. 19,000 employees - about half are teachers. Go to http://www.cms.k12.nc.us/  for further information on how the budget is allocated. What changes do you feel we need to make to live within our means? How to best educate 135,000 students?
